Traditionally, seed companies have focused on what farmers needed: higher yields, greater uniformity, better shipping ability (and thus less spoilage) and perhaps most importantly, protection from pests. In developing countries, this is especially critical.
Today, Seminis is taking its role a step further. In many places, we are working directly with grocery retailers and food companies to introduce innovative products for consumers. These products, we believe, will encourage the population to eat more vegetables, improve their health and fight the epidemic of obesity among children in many countries.
